I originally got this for a 2x2 grow and instantly fell in love with it. This light out did a cheaper 2000W light that I paid as much for on Amazon. This light ran cooler and the light was much brighter and white instead of yellow. The Meanwell driver and Samsung diodes made all the difference. Viparspectra makes a great product and doesn't cost much considering the amount of time you spend growing. I bought a second light and am running 2 XS1500s in a 2x4 tent now. 2 of these would work great in a 3x3 and 1 is a monster in a 2x2. It is brighter and more efficient than the P series. The P series is a great value as well if you are on a budget.I liked the first one of these so much, I bought a second one. My tomatoes and herbs responded incredibly well to these lights, as well as other VIPARSPECTRA lights I have purchased. I can't say these perform better or worse than any competing products due to all the variables involved, but they worked perfectly for me. They are very light which comes in handy when your grow tent crossbars aren't particularly thick or of the highest quality. Purchasing in this size instead of a single, large light allows me flexibility in positioning different lights at different heights and configurations. I'm really happy with this light based on the response from my veggies and herbs. Will definitely Flower a plant. Excellent lightThis is what you want to flower under. I'm running a pair of these in a 4 x 2 tent and couldn't possibly be more satisfied. There are lights out there in the $50 range that you might get lucky with and be able to flower with - I had a pair of "blurples" that did pretty well in my first grow. The increase in productivity in this light vs that one is worth paying 3x the price though, as long as you're going to grow persistently - the light will pay for itself within a couple of grows, if not the first one. It's not just flowering either, the veg cycle under these was incredibly productive vs my old lights.great light cant say anything bad awsome light .The plants love it.Beautiful lightThese lights have samsung diodes and a meanwhile driver with adjustable knob, it's basically everything you would want for a pretty fair price too.Okay, I've had one of these lights for 4 months now and just bought another one a week ago. In a word, they are AWESOME. Couldn't be happier.Like others here, I researched a lot before I bought the first one. Started off with an Aglex G110W ...a nice enough light, great quality but not dimmable, then bought two Topsun TS-1000s...also nice enough, but the misrepresentation in the ad made me keep one and send the other back (the picture makes the heat sink look much thicker than it really is). Plants like them and the price is right, but the thin heat sink makes them run pretty hot at full brightness. Finally I decided to get serious and look at higher-end lights, 1000 watt equivalent. Spider Farmer had the right specs but I didn't like the (relatively) low number of diodes; they must be over-driving them to get that level of brightness. Mars Hydro had lots of diodes with good brightness but they were cheaper diodes. Neither really impressed me for the price. Then along comes Viparspectra with a brand new 1500 watt unit, which not only has excellent specs but top-quality name brand diodes and drivers as well. (and even better, the price for this 1500 watt is about the same as Spider farmer and Mars Hydro want for a 1000 watt!).Three things stand out:1) Plenty of diodes...360 of them, and Samsung LM301Bs (currently the best available, and the ones that all others are compared to).2) A Meanwell LED driver, which is again the one all others are measured against...but not just the XLG series as provided in most quality lights. No, this is an HLG series...the best of the best.3) A *real* finned aluminum heat sink. With quality components like these, you just can't go wrong. This light is a beast...I actually sunburned a tropical plant from 18 inches away before I figured out what was happening (and that's after giving them a few days dimmed down to acclimate); I had to raise the lights to 25 inches (and dim them) to compensate for all that power. I have these lights hanging from a 48" wide 6 foot tall wire shelf, and even without fans, at 100% output they are still far cooler than the Topsun light was (yes, the XS1500s get hot...but not so hot that you can't touch them).. Since heat is the enemy of all electronics, though, I run two 120mm 5 volt computer fans blowing air gently over top of them, which they don't actually need now that they are 75% dimmed. The fans are cheap and available here on Amazon, and come with a 120 volt power supply to plug the USB into. They are *totally* silent on the lowest speed and even when the lights are at 100% they are now just lukewarm to the touch. They will last for years. The dimmers are silky smooth and well positioned; they aren't daisy-chained but I don't need that with only two of them side-by-side. If I absolutely had to nitpick, though, my only complaint would be that the 1000 watt version was *nowhere to be found* when I bought the first 1500 watt one (not even on their website)...not even a mention of it. My fault for being impatient, I guess...I should have waited. No regrets at all, though. It's better to have excess power and not need it, than to need it and not have it.BUY this light. You'll love it as much as I do.Simply amazing! With low ventilation in a 36x20x62in grow while CO2 bombing at 75-100% light capacity, I'm seeing temps of around 80-85F consistently. All I can say is that this light may cost a few bucks more, but it is absolutely the real deal. You will be amazed with the results you get if you have half a clue what you're doing. Absolutely love love love this product!Very well built, Samsung LM301B Diodes and MeanWell Driver. All make it worth the money, and it looks amazing too! Thanks guysVery well built and strong fixture. Highly recommended.
