Description

Leisure LED replacement lights are built with the environment-friendly technology and materials. This Leisure LED features: T8 base, 18” LED Tube; 8-30 volts DC including 12v--this wide-range voltage is designed to withstand RV power fluctuations that can damage ordinary LED lights; 600 Lumens; Warm White color; 9 power watts; 90 High Power 3014 SMD LEDs; beam pattern of 360 degrees; and color temperature of 3000-3500K. Each Leisure LED bulb has a life expectancy of 60,000 hours--many times longer than a standard bulb--which saves money and time, especially in those hard-to-reach places. This product does not contain mercury or emit ultraviolet (UV) light. There are no moving parts or filaments so it can withstand shaking and vibration. It’s made with high quality SMDs (surface-mounted device) on aluminum base and weighs approximately 5 ounces. Fixture Rewiring is Easy but required: Electronic ballast has to be disconnected by qualified electrician

Initial review, having 2 of these installed (one cool white, one warm white). So far, they're great. Brighter than the 18" T8's they replace. They should definitely be used behind diffuser lenses, though. They're fairly directional, but they can be rotated (end caps can rotate) for better light placement. Minimal reflector will be used because of that, hence the strong need for the diffuser. On the colors: The "warm white" is very close in color to the warm white T8s. The "cool white", however, is not. It's a nice, reasonably white light with no obvious color cast - but it's definitely "cooler" in color temp than the T8s it's next to. Far brighter as well.Wiring is straight forward, at least on my thin-lites, just bypass the 12v ballast (disconnect the wires that power it), wiggle the new cord plugs into the hole for the wiring, shake it down to the closest end (behind the reflector), and clip it to the plug harness on the bulb. No need to remove the reflector. If your fixture uses 2 bulbs, the harness has 2 connectors, so you're ready to go.The tombstones are unpowered on this setup, and are just there for support.Fairly straightforward and cheaper than a 12v ballast replacement, and significantly cheaper than trying to replace the fixtures. 2 down, only 22 more to go as ballasts fail.....
